...Mira shots May, 2008...

...here are a couple of pictures of Mira. The first one was when we were playing with Matt's Pick-Up-Sticks that he left for Mira, prior to going to her Pre-School...we found a new use for them as hair decorations. The second was when we were down at the University campus going to the Planetarium and Mueller Hall. Good times.

...hope New York is going well for you, Matt.

Mira to Champions on 4-2-08

...thanks to Matt's generosity, (after he found a fistful and more Champions tokens in his collection), Mira, Mason and Grandpa Ryon went to Champions Fun Center on 4-2-08, after supper at Razin'Canes. Mira also did some bowling, and experienced a lot of other game experiences....but, her favorite was climbing in the big jungle gym they have there, with her Dad. Fun times.

Matt to New York 3-30-08

...yesterday morning, early, Matt got on the train to New York. He is still on the train as I enter this, after spending 11 hours in coach, then 7 hours layover in Chicago, then another 20+ hours in a sleeper car, hopefully, for the last leg to New York. He'll be arriving late Monday evening, then will begin looking for apartments. He is bringing with him six big boxes of clothes and other necessities, and his bike, but they will remain at the station until he locates his residence. For him to go through 28 years of materials and boxes of memorabilia, and reduce that to 6 boxes, was understandably an arduous procedure. There are things that I will continue to save for him, not all memories can be put aside that readily. We will store his car, hopefully in tact for him if/when he should decide to return to Nebraska. Regardless, the house seems much more empty now, knowing that Matt won't be popping over to watch the F1 races, or to watch a movie, or just hang out. Regardless, I know I miss him already. But, I know that this is what he wants to do at this time in his life, and I support him fully. I'm hopeful that he can make good on his promise to get back for some time during the Holidays.

...anyway, here is the only picture I got of him prior to his departure. He was going through his boxes of memorabilia in his room when I caught him.

...good luck, Matt.

Merry Christmas everyone!

It's that time of year again. Good food, family, Christmas songs, goofy cartoons on tv, new toys to play with... I hope you all have a great Christmas.

give me that sweet funk

Europeans are pretty well schooled and appreciate the classics which is super cool. But none of these suckers know George Clinton and/or the Parliament Funkadelic for some reason. Mase, remember that concert. That was... uhhh... interesting, I guess.

Crazy science stuff

Pretty cool. What these scientists think up is so crazy it's unbelievable. Some of the stuff is so far out there I have to assume it's bs. This here is obviously a fundamental mathematical phenomenon but some of the crap like string/m theory... 13 dimensions, come on...

...videos of Mira sledding...

...I tried to get some videos of Mira's snow sledding with this seasons first snow. I kept thinking, here is the start of a great Olympic snowboarding champion.....well, maybe just a little early for that, but she wore both Mason and me out.

...Thanksgiving, 2007...

...just got done watching the huskers get blasted by Colorado, another depressing Saturday, oh well, at least we don't have to "worry" about football over the Holidays and the cold winter months. Oh, for the good'ol'days that we could. But, LSU and Texas both got beat, so there are lots of folks in the same boat.
...Yesterday, Thanksgiving was a real nice day. Very cold, snowed the previous day and night, only had a few inches, but enough that we could get Mira out on the hill in the back with a sled and get her indoctrinated to slick gravity. Mason, Mira and I did that while the turkey was cooking. I used the roaster oven again, and it turned out pretty well, I think. Grandma Ruth went all out and really had lots and lots of other dishes, green bean caserole, stuffing, your whipped sweet potato caserole, a homemade cranberry relish, mashed potatoes and gravy. Again, I ate way to much, but it was fun....then she brought out the deserts and I couldn't say no to those. Jerry was in, we all had a real good time. Mira had a challenge to stay away from all of Grandma's trinkets that she has within reach level, but Mason stayed on top of her to try to prevent too many disruptions. Again, good time. Wish you were here to enjoy, but hopefully we will all get together for Christmas.
...I took a few photos, will upload a few, hope you enjoy them.

Happy thanksgiving everybody!

Hey guys, I hope you all enjoy your turkey day!

I was planning on getting my friends together for a nice meal but I didn't realize that thanksgiving was today so I missed it. How shitty! I worked for like 11 hours today and was totally tired. What the hell ever happened to the rule that it's the last thursday of november?! That's alright, I can always get my friends together another time but it's a bit of a bummer.

Anyways, you guys enjoy the day and I look forward to seeing you all soon.

Matt

Nice song

I wasn't digging on this but it grew on me, it's a nice song. You'll be humming it to yourself all day I guarantee.
